Ricky MartinThis brown-eyed handsome man (whose full name isEnrique Martin Morales) was born in Puerto Rico onChristmas Eve, namely December 24, 1971. Hiscareer as an artist began with the onset of his life. Inthe early childhood years Ricky, as well as otherpeople, learned to walk and talk, a little later hestarted reading and writing. And along with that hewas learning the basics of music and acting. Probably every child once gone through theproverbial stool, on which children have to climb tothe guests and parents to read poems or sing songs.Statistics show that for most children this process isworse than a bitter radish. But Martin in fact evenliked it. Despite the fact that the country where Ricky was born was very poor, many people could envyits cultural life. Puerto Rico of the 70's was really something unusual: the endless carnival, music, paint, and even a television boom. In that country the cultural life touched absolutely allresidents. So Ricky thanks to his talent and charisma by the time when he was eight years hadshown himself in several commercials and learned the sweet taste of glory. In all other aspectshe was an ordinary kid, living according to the usual schedule "home-school-home." That calm and carefree life ended when his parents divorced. Ricky Martin, in spite of the fairlyyoung age, understood the situation well enough, so when he was offered a place in theensemble of "Menudo", he was glad to accept it. The main reason for it was to somehowescape from the troubles in the family and get rid of the school routine."I started out with such enthusiasm to work in a group that my parents were amazed at the easewith which I left on tour away from them. For them it was crazy that a child with such joy mayleave." It was in Menudo where gradually most cherished childhood dreams of Ricky came true. Now, he traveled, performed, participated in the recordings, made friends with new people.Martin knew that he was now one of them, now he was an artist. And of course, there was one more pleasant thing - the attention of the opposite sex. In Rickyand his colleagues in the group were never short of female attention. The girls loved the band;their joyful screams at concerts every now and then overlap the music. Still working in a music group is not just carrots. Endless travels, incidents within the group andother small and big troubles were very tiring and exhausted nerves. But Ricky was not one ofthose who quickly surrendered. He understood that teamwork gives the necessary experienceto further advance of his own solo career."Menudo was necessary for me. But after five years, I realized that I had already given themeverything I had, and received from a group all I could. Then I decided to leave it. Staying withthem would be like making no headway."
